Please join guest teacher Amrit Prem Kaur for a class of mantra, movement, Pranayam, stillness and awareness in practicing Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, Master of Kundalini Yoga. Amrit Prem is a KRI Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor and has been teaching since 2015 in DeKalb, IL. She is excited to join us on Sunday, February 25 from 12-2pm and bring some Kundalini Yoga to our studio.
This class will consist of a warm-up with the original Adi Shakti Celestial Communication Dance opening ourSelves to communicate with and honor the primal and creative power within.
We will then practice a simple spinal flex series Kriya to help open the chakras and get the fluid in the spine moving. This is followed by an hour of deep relaxation with sounds from the gong to balance the chakras and clear away any unwanted subconscious thoughts.
We will finish up the practice with the Laya Yoga Meditation dancing the Kundalini Energy up the spine through the opened chakras out to the aura, bringing you clarity and focus, creating an interrelationship between the finite you and the Infinite You.
Lastly, we will close the class with the Long Time Sun song. Tuition $25

Namaste, Yogis. I just wanted to take a moment to wish you a Happy New Year! Take a moment to reflect on this last year and embrace it. Whether it was the best year you’ve seen in a long time (or not) each moment we experience is a chance to learn.
2018 is off to a great start. The numbers 3, 8, 11 and 108 have much history in yoga. If you have some time, look into it some more.
Here’s what I really think….
Each moment is a choice. A choice to make it different than the previous moment, or to repeat it. If last year was of service to you and you are where you wish to be, simmer. Be present with that and bask in the moment. If last year did not bring you where you wanted to be, get ready to set out for an adventure. Create a new year that reflects a life you wish to live. Take chances. Have fun. Meditate. I’ll be rooting for you!
If you haven’t done so already, check out the January 2018 copy of Naperville Magazine for some helpful tips on meditation.
Practicing meditation for just a few minutes a day has benefits, including “clarity of thought, reduction of stress, and overall improved health,” says Michelle Rae Sobi, owner of Power Edge Yoga in Naperville. But where should a meditation newbie begin? “I’m a big fan of Oprah and Deepak’s 21-day challenge app,” says Sobi, “and it’s free.”
“Take it slow. Set a daily reminder for two minutes. Over time, increase to five minutes. If that goes well, continue increasing. Just a few moments can create an instant reset,” she says.
“Listening to guided meditation such as Aqueous Transmission by Incubus can do the job in seven minutes.”
